The consumer watchdog's long-running fight with an Australian company over six contentious Google Ads is set to rumble on. 9News

The consumer watchdog's long-running fight with an Australian company over six contentious Google Ads is set to rumble on.in November slapped workplace relations advisor Employsure with a $1 million fine for making misleading representations on a series of Google Ads.But the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is now appealing that fine as it seeks an even tougher penalty.

Employsure were found to have made misleading representations that it was, or was affiliated with, a government agency. "We were concerned Employsure's Google ads potentially misled thousands of Australian businesses over a two-year period into contacting Employsure, thinking they were dealing with a government agency, or one affiliated with the government," ACCC Deputy Chair Mick Keogh said in a statement today.

"We are always open to discussions and hope to resolve this quickly without it having any further impact on taxpayer dollars or our clients," the spokesperson said.

‘Outrageous’: ACCC to name and shame rapid test price-gougersCompetition watchdog chairman Rod Sims has pledged to name and shame retailers price gouging customers for rapid COVID-19 tests, after service stations and convenience stores were found to be charging as much as $70 for a single kit. Oh, whatever will they do. Named and shamed. How will they recover. Oh the humanity. Toothless tiger. Good that this will be done, but it is a bit late so many people had no access to test kits and couldn't pay these ridiculous prices. These businesses have already made so much money from people's misfortune😡 Should be name, shame and fine.
