Sky News host Chris Kenny the abortion debate in New South Whales has become “politically perilous” and highlights “(Premier Gladys Berejiklian's lack of leadership”. He said Ms Berejiklian should have revealed her intention to back the changes before the election.

“She said nothing about this before the election, and obviously was hoping this would just slip through parliament, a private members bill from a green independent, helped out by the government and a conscience vote,” he said. “The Premier should have been upfront about the process, ensured there was a proper committee examination of the issues and argued for why this reform or change was justified. “It has blown up in her face badly, exacerbated by the ugly factionalism of the NSW liberals.
