An Australian woman is being held at Denpasar police station in Bali after officers seized a parcel sent to her allegedly containing marijuana liquid.

Kim Anne Alloggia, believed to be from Taree in New South Wales, was arrested on Saturday and now faces up to 12 years behind bars for drug possession. Police said they found the yellow substance weighing 0.57 grams in a parcel also containing fabric dye, sent to the 51-year-old by a friend in the Unites States.

The parcel was collected from the post office by Alloggia’s Balinese business manager who then delivered it to her at her Seminyak home, according to police. Alloggia’s lawyer has told media her friend offered to send an alternative medicine to help with a liver condition, but the Aussie had no idea it contained drugs.
