Medical experts have assured Australian parents a coronavirus cluster at a New Zealand school that has so far infected 94 people is no reason to fear sending their children back to classrooms

.

New Zealand health officials have refused to release details of exactly how many of those cases were teachers, how many were students and how many were people who have never set foot in the school. According to one report the number of students was as few as 12.Ricky Wilson / Stuff Microbiologist Siouxsie Wiles, head of the Bioluminescent Superbugs Lab at the University of Auckland, said the cluster was named after the school but that did not mean the transmissions all happened there. "It is not that 100 children and teachers got it," she said. "It's the fact that it spread to their families, that kind of thing."

"It sounds like it's related to an event that occurred well before restrictions were in place or being adhered to," she said. "It's not so relevant to the situation we're in now."

what bullshit we r send kids back 2 schools don't have enuf sanitation we've been told don't need 2social distance & fobbed off with they r not infectious when all reports in Europe say they r We r not stupid we hav children who hav asthma & other at risk fam members They r liars

Please name the “medical experts” of whom you speak.

Yeah right

Of course it's no reason for concern...as if anyone could believe that

🤨

toninicho When does federal parliament resume?

Question for our legal and Insurance expert twitterati out there; Would the Professional Indemnity insurance of these, so called, medical experts cover their ill advices in the event of transmission at schools and the affected decided to take them to court? WeFightForFair

Oh , sure I believe you but then I am an idiot.

total BS

I thought NZ had already celebrated their success against Covid_19?

It would be helpful to quote the data published in a very recent article in Lancet Infectious Diseases, showing children are in fact infected at the same rate as adults. They’re just much more likely not to show any symptoms, but could still infect others.

That's not how I see it.

Always the bravo words before they really know what's happening.

..... and now a Victorian school is to close.

Who are these ‘experts’, please? I need to know who I should never take seriously.

Lost count of how many times the word ‘expert’ used in the discussion on schools. I am not interested: show me the reaseach that fully supports opening schools (the NSW report supports keeping them closed). And then there is NZ. Hard to deny reality, even for an ‘expert’

I refuse to believe this, 'the most affective leader in world', would never allow a cluster to enter New Zealand! This is an outrage! (Sarcasm)

I'm not sending my kids back until I deem it safe . Why trust this government & it's so called medical advice. LNP capitalist ruling-class is ruthless in defending profit. & nothing gets in the way of their profits including your average Australian's. We're nothing to them .

What mefical experts, empanelled by whom and with what qualifications to talk about this virus?

...well,New Zealand.....

Isn't it funny how reassurance is not especially reassuring. Information is. Explanations that make sense are.

April 30:

Errr wot?!

Bullshit.... federal health officers are completely polically biased, appointed because of that bias auspol

Costello media at it again, pushing the party line. Have you heard of Lancet? You used to be outside the party line michaelkoziol

Amazing how many scared little people are still out there. Crying about second waves and how all their kids will die. Get a grip.

But Stuff the teachers

I predict this is not going to end well.

Yeah, nah

ha ha ha ha. ‘course there’s no reason to be worried! ‘course not!

They are not experts, but the mouthpiece of the government. What a ridiculous explanation. How can you avoid same things happen in Australia? Public schools have many small and narrow places here as well. Not convincing at all. Shame on you “expert”! COVID2019 TeachersRock

The medical experts have done a sensational job. We should trust their judgement

So, let me get your bullshit once again, straight. We need lockdowns to stop the spread of the Chinese flu but at schools, we don’t need to be fearful of sending kids back..... Ok. Message now completely understood I’m to shut down all thought. Don’t confuse myself with facts

Seriously someone should be challenging these medical experts as what they say often makes no logical sense.
