Bellerive Oval ground curator Marcus Pamplin admits to feeling 'a little bit of extra pressure' as Hobart gets ready to host the fifth Ashes Test, which will bring an international focus and an estimated $27 million in revenue to the state.

Marcus Pamplin has prepared grounds for international cricket teams before, but will face his biggest challenge next month when his work at Hobart's Bellerive Oval is front and centre for the newly-relocated fifth Ashes Test. The Tasmanian government has contributed $4m to securing the Test and expects an $27m return to the state's economy"We put our heart and soul into every cricket wicket, even if it's just a practice game," he said.

After spending the week lobbying Cricket Australia, Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein said he "couldn't be happier" at the board's decision."This was about delivering, for cricket lovers all around the country, here in Tasmania, and importantly all around the world. The Tasmanian Government will contribute $4 million of taxpayer money, but Mr Gutwein said the Test would provide substantial economic returns for the state.

Earlier this week Tasmanian Public Health authorities approved an increase of the stadium's seating capacity, increasing it from a 10,000-seat limit to 14,000-seat capacity. But Mr Gutwein said he was confident that Bellerive would be at capacity for each day of the final Ashes Test.
