They're qualified and keen but the work simply is not there for many Australians doing it tough. Instead they're weathering the storm at university in numbers tipped to reach record highs.

The universities with the highest growth in enrolments for specialised courses included:University of Queensland — 19 per centCurtin University — 10 per cent

He would have been so happy. That would be a real slap in the face.. actually for many. They go to uni, for a good future. Then find there's no work..

He is lucky now they've capped HECS re-training at a higher levels is now a lot more difficult

Look for courses that offer realistic job chances - simple. I mean how many engineering jobs are there ?

It’s a difficult time for all graduates but it’s going to get better over 2021. For technicals like this guy, writing your own software is valuable, over and above the software packages they teach at Uni. Do your own startup is another very legitimate choice.

70% of the population seems to manage without them. Many that have them don't work in the same field as their degree was granted in.

So much for politicians saying we have a skills shortage. We all know that’s a load of crap. There’s one thing we don’t have a shortage of and it people with skills and degrees looking for work, they just want numbers to drive down the wages.

Jobs are side effects of a business and not a necessity. Despite this, government spends billions on a trickle-down system instead of creating jobs in a sustainable lifestyle and misguides the population towards private sector for earnings.

Fed govt should be funding research and start ups into robotics and tech

Plenty of trees that needed fruit picked. Were there no jobs or no jobs he was prepared to do?
