Labor needs to ‘stop pushing renewables so hard’ and support the gas industryLabor should be supporting the gas industry in order to push down energy prices, says Sky News host Chris Kenny. “The other way, of course, to help keep prices low is to stop pushing renewables so hard that gas generators can't afford to lock in long-term, cheaper gas contracts,” he said. Mr Kenny said the “soaring gas prices” are “feeding” into electricity prices, with policies having been “directed at pushing gas out”, resulting in the closing of gas generators. “And Labor wonders why the gas that's left is so expensive.” Is it not time that Australia and the US stop this war with the energy giants and cap prices to bring inflation down. Interest rates go up then energy prices go up and filter through to every aspect of economic and personal life. Rates seem futile... with energy unharnessed!
