The Independent Electoral Commission has decided that President Jacob Zuma will not be allowed to stand for election on 29 May.The IEC has come to a decision that former Jacob Zuma should not be part of the 29 May elections.

Zuma can appeal this decision by approaching the Electoral Court, which must reach a verdict by 9 April. The uMkhonto we Sizwe party and the objecting party have been informed by the IEC about the decision.
