In November, government announced the decision to discontinue the permit by December this year, after its initial introduction in 2009.But many have told Eyewitness News that this process is an administrative nightmare and they do not think that they will meet the December deadline.

The process is proving to be a little complicated for her as her skill is not listed on the country’s critical skills list.

The conditions of the permits are very clear! They have always been temporal in nature, never promising permanent residency. Holders were provided with a grace period of an entire year to regularise their stay through other means. SA like any other country has immigration laws
