CAPE TOWN - A man implicated in the murder of City of Cape Town official Wendy Kloppers is expected to return to the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
He handed himself over to police this week, more than a year after 48-year-old Kloppers was shot and killed at the Delft Symphony Way housing project site. The shooting was part of a string of violent attacks, including a petrol bombing directed at the housing project. Kloppers visited the site to conduct an inspection in February last year when she was allegedly mistaken for a woman who won the construction contract.City Human Settlements Mayco Member, Carl Pophaim has welcomed the arrest.
"The city has shown and we will continue to show that we will act against anyone and everyone who wants to destabilise our construction sector and allow organised crime and construction mafias to infiltrate the work that we do."
