🏃Popular Limpopo comedian, Ntambudzeni Rasendedza, sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for assaulting his girlfriend 😲Catch up on what happened: GBV

The Sibasa Regional Court heard the first incident took place in August 2019, when Rasendedza assaulted his girlfriend with a wooden stick and an electric cable. He also burnt plastic all over her body, before locking her inside his home for two weeks.

In the second incident, he assaulted her with a rock and broke her leg when the pair attended a party. He pleaded not guilty, claiming the victim had burned herself, and that she broke her leg after she fell.Regional prosecutor Fhulufhelo Mulangaphuma argued that the accused should be sentenced to jail to send a message to would-be offenders.

He had been denied bail since 13 March 2020, when his case was transferred to the Sibasa Regional Court

I’m A Changed Man, Nigeria's Hushpuppi Vows to Pay Back MillionsConvicted fraudster Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, has pledged to make full restitution as he expressed regrets and apologies for his actions in the letter he sent to the judge, ahead of his sentencing in November. Hushpuppi is awaiting sentencing by a United States court. He apologised to the victims of his crimes, law enforcement agencies, U.S. government's lawyers, and the judge handling his case. He expressed his willingness to pay full restitution of U.S.$1.7 million to all victims including those from whom he claimed not to have derived any gain. Hushpuppi participated in scams that resulted in losses of U.S.$24 million to the victims. He was arrested in Dubai in June 2020 alongside 12 other people who were part of the scam. The Dubai police later handed them over to the FBI in the U.S., where he was arraigned on charges of conspiracy to launder money,  among others.  In August 2021, U.S. film company, Will Packer Productions, and Nigeria's Mo Abudu's EbonyLife Studios acquired rights to make a movie based on Bloomberg's article about Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, titled Bloomberg article, The Fall of the Billionaire Gucci Master.
