After missing the July 27 deadline to release all the examination results for last semester, the University of SA says about 95% of the results have now been released.

This follows complaints by students after delays in releasing their first semester online exams. Due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic lockdown regulations, all exams were taken online.

Students complained that the outstanding results were affecting their plans to register for the second semester. This was a “historic first for the university” and students submitted more than 1.3 million digital examination scripts. “Eventually students sat for about 950 000 papers during the examinations and to date 95% of the examination results have been released. By the time this paper goes to print this will obviously be higher,” Unisa said.Unisa said the results delays were due to some technical challenges, mainly arising from students who submitted their examination papers via email instead of uploading them onto the exams platform.
