Running out of water and sewage pollution are the threats facing municipalities in the Western Cape if they fail to prepare for prolonged periods of load shedding.

This was heard at a high-level meeting of the Western Cape cabinet, along with all the mayors of the province, which kicked off on Wednesday night to thrash out ongoing challenges posed by Eskom's power cuts.
