Equal Education (EE) and the Equal Education Law Centre (EELC) are concerned about the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) draft guidelines on gender identity and sexual orientation in public schools, saying they carried dangerous basic flaws.

Cape Town - Equal Education and the Equal Education Law Centre are concerned about the Western Cape Education Department draft guidelines on gender identity and sexual orientation in public schools, saying they carried dangerous basic flaws.

McFarlane said they wanted to emphasise the importance of a document that could provide schools with direction on being inclusive, but were worried that despite the previous detailed feedback submitted to the WCED, various drafts of those guidelines had not fixed the critical flaws. “We will study the contents of their submission, as well as those of stakeholders whom we have engaged with throughout this process.”

Give farmers ownership rights | CitypressIt would be a mistake to see the sad case of Mpumalanga farmers who face losing their land as primarily another corruption story: “Black farmers refuse to pay bribes, kicked off state-owned farms,” writes Terrence Corrigan Unless individuals are given ownership rights and reform will fail over and over again. families will be unable to accrue wealth that can be passed down through the generations. every new generation will have to start in the same place as their parents. A 30 year lease is an insult to a farmer wanting to develop a piece of land. Given the current level of corruption he could be booted off at any time.. it is happening already.
