WATCH | National Geographic announces documentary about Dr. Anthony Fauci | Channel

Dr. Fauci has been dubbed"America’s Doctor" and has become one of the most well-known faces amid the pandemic. National Geographic Documentary Films on Wednesday announced their latest feature documentary that will focus on America’s top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Dubbed"America’s Doctor" by The New Yorker, Dr. Fauci has become America’s most unlikely cultural icon, with his signature blend of scientific acumen, candor, courage and integrity in the face of Covid-19. and memorialised by Fauci fans who have put his face on everything from coffee mugs to candles.

Through intimate interviews, Dr. Fauci takes us on a journey through his remarkable career, with a particular focus on HIV/Aids — from the dark years when there was no treatment and little funding to the advent of triple therapy, and his efforts to bring cutting-edge medications to sub-Saharan Africa through the development of The President’s Emergency Plan For Aids Relief , which has saved more than 18 million lives since 2003.

The film will also feature the voices of many of those who have influenced him, and whom he has worked alongside - and for - including President George W. Bush, Bill Gates, and Bono.
