"You're special Re, you have a talent they call genius," Forest Whitaker tells young Aretha Franklin in the upcoming biopic.has finally been released. The long-awaited film will hit cinemas on 13 August.

Aretha's blessing to play herThe two-minute clip gives the most comprehensive look into the film, from Aretha's childhood to her struggles breaking out in the music industry to writing her hit song,It also introduces us to the other cast members: Whitaker who plays her father C. L. Franklin, Audra McDonald as her mother Barbara Siggers Franklin, Marc Maron as music producer Jerry Wexler, Marlon Wayans as her husband Ted White, and Mary J. Blige as singer Dinah Washington.
