Nine times out of 10, the silence lasts for two seconds until the wedding ceremony proceeds without a hitch. But on the very rare occasion, someone will shout from the crowd “I object”.
This is exactly what happened at a wedding in Detroit, USA when the father of the groom chose this exact time to share his feelings about the union between his son and wife-to-be."I know you're not serious, man. I know you're not serious,“ says the father from the congregation as the stunned bride and groom look up.
As the marriage officer ignores the comment and tries to continue with the exchanging of vows, the father then gets up and shouts:"Excuse me, pardon me,“ and approaches the couple."If you did not want to come, you can leave. You shouldn't have come if you did not want us to get married,“ says the bride.
The whole five-minute exchange ends in a brawl and a very tearful bride. Suffice to say, the father leaves the wedding after some encouragement from other wedding guests.
