Schoolchildren in Scenery Park, East London, organised a white T-shirt candlelight march to Enyobeni tavern and demanded the tavern owner be removed from the area.

Hundreds of schoolchildren marched to the doors of the Enyobeni tavern demanding the owner shut down the premises after the mysterious deaths of 21 children there.A song dubbed “RIP Tribute” was heard playing in the neighbourhood. The song was created by local artist Slimmo in tribute to those who died on Sunday. Lumko High pupil Langa Miya said she knew one of the victims, a 13-year-old boy who attended her school.

“We used to give him money to buy stuff at the tuck-shop for us. He was a very sweet boy,” Miya said. “This is not the first time bad things have happened at that tavern. We need something done about this.”“I am a mother, I am a churchgoer. I have a feeling. I wish the world would learn that liquor is not important. This is a sin. I am not feeling well at all. This is really bad,” Sqwepu said.

Ba nyela..who was supposed to die?

What did the tarven owner do? Excuse me for my ignorance...and the station commander?

Crocodile tears 🚮, kids of nowadays don't have respect for their parents. Thanks to this useless government led by ANCMustFall for giving them more rights

And the parents?

We don't care

The tavern is there to serve those who are legally allowed there. All they need is to restrict the kids from entering, call police if necessary

I will blame the security if there was one because on 1 way or another he was corrupt to let that child in the tavern *you know what i mean* then the parents are also guilty for letting your child out so so so late even know you didn’t know where he or she went, but still

how can you be assure that your child of 13 yrs is not back home until pass 12.midnight or etc , means the parents are themself careless for the behavior of their kids , plus that child has been doing it most of the time , now they’ve got a tavern and it’s owner to blame

Removed from the area? That doesn't make sense, where must she go, why they can't wait the law to do his job.

Ba nyela bana ba

They must go home and read books and stop your nonsensical behavior.

Why not remove all tarvens

These kids are the ones who must be removed from taverns

So they will March to all the tarvens? This is the most stupid idea, this kids should just behave like kids, tarvens are for grown up people

Had they not died in such a number and televised, this march would have not happened: underage drinking has been a huge problem, and is not only taking place in taverns. It even happens during school activities.

Kade bayihamba le tarven. Sebenza ngathi kusha ngoku. Bangazosi qhela kakubi apha

Isupport the march

Amadoda from the mountains in East London wow they are now minors ... Parents should be charged actually the whole community including a counsellor

In spite of this great and unnecessary loss, taverns, clubs and she-beens will be full again this weekend...seems our nation has become immune to shocks and simply carries on as if nothing happened...the deaths of these youngsters, will be in vain...

If you concentrated on education, this would not have happened. Children have no place in a tavern.

This people are not serious 🤣🤣🤣🤣

So they want the Enyobeni tarven only to be closed down and leave other taverns.

All taverns in the area must be closed down........

Some of these so-called childrens rights must be scrapped and replaced with discipline.

Have the under age survivors been charged for breaking the law? Have the victims parents been charged for child neglect?

They'll be bored in two weeks, missing the groove 🤣🤣🤣

Why were they going to a tavern from the first place

Stupidity

In all the interviews now has guts to ask these hooligans that what were they doing in the tar-van cause they are under age

Parents are the first culprits.

Sebesuthi ukudla kwakhe bathi Akahambe angithi beni flood leyathaveni for free things

These kids frequented this tavern, why did they not march then? We are a very reactive society. Wgat about the parents that let this happen? What at about the liquor board? What about law enforcement? It takes a village!

And I've got a question, did you guys see the survivors? why is it now a crime after the under age children died, yes the owner needs to bare the consequences and so should the local police station commander including the deceased parents they too should face prosecution

They shouldn't have been there to begin with. Their parents are negligent. They are the ones who should be charged. Reckless

Ay kunzima I m still shocked

You guys youare abusing democracy 15 and 16 years and tarven does it make sense .stop it stop it

That’s a very strange poison only affecting teens and no one else in the tavern at all !!! This is not logical unless only the teens were served with something ‘special’ which leads to murder ! When is our society going to get rich at all costs The country and now it’s youth
