Water levels at the Vaal Dam have dropped to below 50 percent for the first time in nearly three years

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng residents are being urged to use water sparingly following reports that Vaal Dam levels have dropped below 50 percent.

"Dam levels are where they are supposed to be, you have to remember the Lesotho Highlands Water Project is underway for the next two months due to maintenance so the graph for the dam levels are expected to decline.The Water and Sanitation Department cited highSouth Africans are encouraged to actively save and conserve water as a way of life," said
