It could be a cold Christmas for some University of the Western Cape students. That's after the university shut residences as part of its Covid-19 measures. Some students say they were blindsided by the decision and will now have to sleep on the streets. "The decision by the UWC response task team is that all UWC residences would be closed from 17 December," Abarder said. "The task team circulated a notice on 2 December, informing students and campus community of the need for residences to be vacated.
