US Naval Force Africa says it is committed to being a reliable and long-term partner in Atlantic Africa.

Speaking to journalists at a virtual press briefing on Monday, US Navy Captain John Tully, the Director of African Engagements for US Naval Forces Africa, said the biggest haul was approximately 6 000 kilograms of cocaine."They successfully worked with national maritime operation centres to stop two maritime crimes. The first was an instance of illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing in Sierra Leone's exclusive economic zone that could result in over $2 million of fines.

The maritime security operations entailed tactical visits, and board searches and seizure techniques. Maritime insecurity had resulted in the rise in piracy at the Gulf of Guinea resulting in poverty and weak economies.
