Two more major injury worries for the Springboks

In just over a month the Springboks will be back in action with a season-opening Test against Wales at Twickenham. This will be followed by a two-Test series against Ireland and a one-off game against Portugal prior to the Rugby Championship.

The Springbok centre and scrumhalf have been been ruled out of Friday’s Challenge Cup final against Gloucester in London. “It’s the end of the road for him in the URC and the Challenge Cup, but I think Jaden will be out for a longer period. We do hope that Lukhanyo does recover fast enough to have some international rugby.”Jasper Wiese was involved in a nasty incident this past weekend, though, which saw him receive a red card for a dangerous act of foul play.

Wiese will now go into a disciplinary hearing, which could see him banned for anywhere between one and six games. All of these could end up being Springbok games as Leicester failed to qualify for the Premiership playoffs.
