Two wanted suspects were arrested by Parys Police Detectives working together with Crime Prevention and Crime Intelligence Unit members following the murder of an elderly man during a house robbery. Two suspects, aged 40 and 42, were arrested after intelligence led information was operationalized by the investigating team. The suspects were found at a house in Tumahole and arrested. The team is busy putting pieces together to establish if the suspects cannot be linked with other house robbery and murder incidents in Parys.

On 03 April 2024 at about 09:45, Parys police were summoned to a house in Parys where an 80-year-old elderly male was attacked and killed by unknown suspects. The deceased was discovered by a member from his church who went to check up on him after realizing the elderly man did not attend the church service on that day. The church member found the 80-year-old lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Police and emergency personnel were called to the scene and he was declared dead at the scene. The views of authors published on South Africa Today are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of South Africa Today.
