Extreme weather events like severe thunderstorms are likely to give rise to more tornadoes in SA, experts have warned.

Dr Alistair Clulow and Prof Michael Savage, both University of KwaZulu-Natal experts in agrometeorology, have predicted that more tornadoes – a violent, rotating column of air extending from a thunderstorm to the ground – are likely to occur in the future. “There is a lot of work being done on climate change, with many models making predictions mainly on rainfall and air temperature changes we can expect in the future...Simply register at no cost to proceed.
