Truter: Why new signings struggle at Chiefs

Chiefs made a triple-signing from Swallows in June 2022, bringing on board Dillan Solomons, Kamohelo Mahlatsi and George Matlou after they impressed under Truter at the Birds. Mahlatsi was eventually released after lack of game-time, while Solomons continues to struggle to make it into the regular line-up.

"I think that is why the rumours of me going to Chiefs might have come up, because of my involvement with a lot of players in the Chiefs set-up at that stage," Truter elaborated in an exclusive interview with"And even now there's a lot of players that I have coached in that team. Having said that, players make the system or the playing style. It's not the coach that picks the formation and then signs anybody to play in there.
