The victim of a hijacking that occured on Monday, 01 April 2024 alerted the police about the incident and further mentioned that the suspects demanded one thousand rand to get back his driver’s licence, the victim gave them the money. After two days he received a call from the suspects demanding eighty thousand rand to release his motor vehicle.

The Organised Crime Investigation team set an entrapment and on Wednesday, the first suspect was arrested and positively identified as the hijacker.
