Travellers have been thrown into panic mode in the wake of the first coronavirus case in South Africa.

Doctor of SA's first coronavirus patient speaks

KwaZulu -Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala has urged people not to panic and says one recorded case does not mean an outbreak is imminent. "We would want people not to panic, we are in charge of the situation, the issue of people who have cancelled flights is not because they don't want to fly to Durban anymore but it is because of the issue of the threat of coronavirus," Zikalala said.

"The case that has been identified and confirmed, the individual involved has been taken for treatment and quarantined. He is on his own in an isolated ward and we would want people to understand that this is not an outbreak, we are taking all measures to ensure that this is not an outbreak."
