Transnet National Ports Authority has selected the Amulet Group Consortium as the preferred bidder to build and operate its 20 MW solar photovoltaic plant at the Port of Richards Bay on the northern KwaZulu-Natal coast. The plant’s construction is a step in the ports authority’s commitment to decarbonise port operations through its Renewable Energy Purchase programme.

The consortium will oversee the design, construction, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the solar PV plant with a battery energy system at the Port of Richards Bay for a period of seven years,” it added.
“It will further provide a cost-effective and reliable energy supply to the port and its users,” he added.
