When I read this week that Johannesburg City Power had cut off electricity to a number of freeloading customers in Dainfern, I must confess that I was confused.
It wasn’t the theft of electricity itself that confused me, of course. City Power swoops on Dainfern Estate, where 204 residents owe R13mCity Power said on Wednesday that residents with illegal electricity connections at an upmarket housing estate in Dainfern, Johannesburg, owed them R13m. citypower, go do the same in soweto! We all have to pay regardless of rich or poor! The rich pay higher rates and taxes, so the poor can pay! Fair enough they need to collect that but what abt the billions they loosing with illegal connections. City Power needs to clean that first to set a precedent. OR ARE THEY SCARED OF THE BACKLASH
