Throwing urine at Calcot Dlephu Clinic nurses is a sign of GBV - Denosa

An angry patient threw urine at nurses after having waited for about four hours to be attended to. Photo: iStockThe Democratic Nursing Organisation of SA in Gauteng has called for tighter security measures at health institutions after an angry patient allegedly threw urine at nurses who were sitting and eating in a canteen.

Simphiwe Gada, Denosa's provincial chairperson, said the incident was yet another sign of how poorly nurses and other healthcare workers were protected by their employers. Gada called on the MEC and HOD of the department of health and wellness in Gauteng to ensure that the wellness of the employees was prioritised, and they expected that the employees would have, at the very least, received counselling.

City_Press This Denosa doesn't denounce on their members work ethic and their bad behaviour instead they calling for tighter security for such poor performing nurses😏

City_Press That patient was gatvol... These nurses sit on their behinds the whole day and not giving a fck about the needs of patients. He was right to do that!

City_Press Noooo… Get rid of the unions. They are the reason workers abuse the system and get away with it. Failed to mention the patient was waiting 4 hours whilst the nurses sat and played games on their phones. God forbid they actually work 🤷‍♂️

City_Press The union must teach it's members professionalism, they can't be spending 3 hours looking for files, they can't all go to lunch at once whiles patients are waiting they must rotate, they must change their behaviour or the community will clap them

City_Press I think being thrown with urine doesn’t warrant security…really! Rather go and eat out of sight or try going to eat at different times so that there is always someone available to help!!!

City_Press That’s all they do, eat.

City_Press Sitting nattering in a staff room and playing games on your cell phone while patients beg for help hour after hour isn't a dereliction of duty though...

City_Press It serves them well. Have u seen how nurses abuse about to deliver teenagers in the maternity ward, they are lazy. Just medicine they got.

City_Press 👏 and while they are at it they should also hire some one to make sure the nurses are actuallu nursing when at work..the way ppl behave here is like they doing the world a favour by doing work they were hired to do speciouly gov sector ppl act like u owe them for service u paid4

City_Press Don't increase security, provide service delivery... easy peasy 👌

City_Press Quiet on the news front 😂

City_Press Oh go to hell. Your damn so called nurses are lazy to their core. At 08:30 they already yawning from just walking in through the door to start the day. Stop defending kak.

City_Press Bayalunga , ayikho into edelela njongonesi. Mina ngifisa ukubathela ngendle uqobo

City_Press This Dunusa should report their members first to said commission, which is also useless, before the nonsense they're whining about.Their members are so rude you'd think they were trained in the concentration camps, nogal! Not condoning urine incident at all.

City_Press If that is GBV then nurses not doing what they are suppose to be doing is a sign of human right Violations.... End of story...

City_Press Our Clinic opens at 07H00 at 09h00 the sisters pitch up then they first have coffee at 09h30 they start to see people at 10H00 they have tea between 10H45 and 11H00 they would see people again till 13H00 then lunch and after that people are turned away because they are tired...

City_Press GBV only applies to Female's gender and I'm sure she's she since this been categorised at GBV.

City_Press How is security going to help PERFORM your DUTIES, at best you can dress up the security or take them home with you, other than that theirs no use, rather ask for more nurses...

City_Press And pls provide a beta service the poor and spent more time on ur staff about their attitude.

City_Press How about calling on the staff to do some actual work?

City_Press What is urine to someone who's life is hanging in the balance?

City_Press Sitting on their asses the whole day is the sign of what?

SouthAfricansP1 tell them to fuck off and do their jobs

The best measure is to get them to do their job. That situation wouldn't have happened

Filthy f&ck make him drink it!!!!!

It's not security measures, perhapes try encouraging nurses to do thier job Endless Rea breaks shopping during working hours and continuing cellphone conversations would be a good start.. They lazy just thier for the paycheck

I have lost so much through investing because I don’t have much knowledge about how it works .I was at the verge of quitting till I was introduced to TrevorCarlson0 and my story changed, its worth a try using the platform he recommended ,a great mentor TrevorCarlson0

Maybe tighter control of nurses lunch breaks and delivery of service to the patients rather?

Nurses are lazy so we cannot stay for hours in the hospitals while they are sitting in the canteen saying they are taking break

I hope they opened a case against him, he must be arrested, he's not a patient but a thug
