Three Post Office branches hit by armed robbers hours apart in Cape Town

Cape Town - Three Post Office branches have been hit by armed robbers on Thursday, with suspects making off with undisclosed amounts of cash.

Kuilsriver Post Office was robbed at around 7am on Thursday, followed by the Kenilworth Main Road Post Office at 8am, according to police spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana. Today is the first of the month, which means the South African Social Security Agency grant money would have been available for collection by grant beneficiaries at Post Office branches.

A media statement from the Hout Bay police station commander said that they were following all leads to pursue the culprits. "A suspect entered the Post Office in Hout Bay and threatened the employees with a firearm," the statement read. "He left the Post office with an undisclosed amount of cash. A Bantam bakkie was found abandoned close to the crime scene. No arrests have been made as yet." Rwexana described a similar modus operandi for the two earlier robberies at Kuilsriver and Kenilworth Post Office branches.

Eskom gets a chief restructuring office amid devastating financial resultsFollowing a blisteringly painful set of results — revealing Eskom’s losses had reached almost R21-billion — Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan announced the creation of an office of the Chief Restructuring Officer. This govt's failures are now so pervasive that we now have an actual CHIEF OFFICE for fixing fuckups. Which will fail. What are expensive SOE boards for & the public enterprises' entire staff component? Did anyone ask what CR did since 2014 when he was supposed to fix this all? They have failed the nation. Loss escalate from 2 billion to 20 billion under the watchful eye of the new board, ceo etc. IPP's costs increased yet we still had loadshedding Would be interesting to track and find out how much Eskoms cumbersome procurement policies have added to this debacle? I am sure that many a supplier has benefited handsomely by supplying diesel to Eskom at a premium!! 😡😡😡
