Every week for the past five years, an average of four children have been killed and scores injured or attacked.

The Cape Town Trauma Centre says after the provincial government refused to convene a judicial commission of inquiry into child safety, it decided to hold its own.More than a thousand children testified using art-based therapy.The most vulnerable victims include young girls and boys, undocumented refugee children and children with physical disabilities.

This report has no legal standing but it's given a voice to many who would otherwise not have been heard.
