If you thought you had missed the opportunity to watch the play, The Cry of Winnie Mandela, currently on stage at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg , fret not. The production was initially supposed to run until 21 April; however, popular demand has prompted artistic director Greg Homann and his team to grant the production a two-week extension until 5 May.
Before the women cast members gracing the stage, the auditorium is mesmerised by their harmonious voices from behind the set. Les Nkosi, who plays Professor Njabulo Ndebele, whose novel bled the ink of the adaptation, has a somewhat unique ability to stay in character throughout the hour and a half of the production.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
