The automaker sold 3 336 last month, working hard to catch up to the waiting list caused by the shutdown of its local plant in Prospecton, Durban, earlier in April due to the severe flood damage. The brand also sold 285 Land Cruiser pickup models.Isuzu and Ford battled for the second-highest number of bakkies sold last month, with 1 807 Rangers finding new homes and, right on their heels, 1 802 D-Max models.

It's also interesting to see the Ford Ranger still selling such high volumes of its current model since its highly anticipated next-generation pickup truck is only a month away from being available on local showroom floors. As the only half-tonner option in South Africa, the Nissan NP200 continues a strong showing. It found 1 096 new owners last month, while its gorgeous Navara bakkie found 507 new homes in October.
