In what’s suspected to be the latest flare-up in a deadly taxi turf war, Cape Town taxi groups have put the brakes on their minibuses on Thursday morning.

CAPE TOWN - Police say at least seven people are dead after a taxi violence shooting spree in Cape Town., Cape Town taxi groups Cata and Codeta have put the brakes on their minibuses on Thursday morning.Western Cape police say they are being deployed to taxi routes to maintain law and order, while the provincial government’s pleading for an immediate end to the violence.

Minibus taxis also embarked on a go-slow on the city’s major highways on Wednesday afternoon, blocking all lanes across the N1 and N2.
