Cape Town taxi drivers vow not to pay fines amounting to millions

Although the industry is faced with a number of challenges, Santaco says there has been an improvement in safety. “We have said in each and every meeting that we are having with taxi operators we need to speak about road safety and conscientise them about the importance of making sure that vehicles are always roadworthy, but secondly, speak to the drivers making sure that they don’t speed, they don’t overload, they don’t drink and drive,” said Santaco KZN Chairperson Boy Zondi.

Santaco says they have seen positive results from hosting the annual sports event and believe this year’s edition will have a similar impact.

THESE taxis are a blight on our roads, they should go, transportation can put smaller busses and mini busses on for passengers, make life safer for passengers and road users, onlyway to rid our roads from this scurge
