The Siya crew has been informed that Musa Nyatama could be following fellow veterans Thabo Matlaba and Vuyo Mere in parting ways with Swallows FC.Matlaba, 34, and Mere, 37, recently parted ways with the Birds to join Royal AM and TS Galaxy respectively. The duo were key components of coach Dylan Kerr’s squad at the time of their departure.
Now, according to well-placed Siya sources, 34-year-old Nyatama is the latest player being linked with an exit from the Birds despite being an integral part of the team this campaign. Nyatama has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Swallows this season but was an unused substitute in their 2-1 Nedbank Cup win over TS Sporting over the weekend.He joined the club in 2020 following the sale of Highlands Park to TS Galaxy and featured prominently for the Birds under former coach Brandon Truter.
As a result, the veteran was handed a one-year extension on his contract in July last year which is set to expire at the end of the 2021/22 season as reported by the Siya crew, but according to sources the former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder is nearing the end of the road at Swallows and is unlikely to continue with the club beyond the current campaign.
