The police report indicates that the deceased was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money and other valuables before being fatally assaulted. The tourist had picked up a hitch-hiker and later his accomplices at a different location. The 74-year-old had recently arrived in the country from Botswana.According to police, the murdered tourist had developed a friendship with a hitch-hiker and his associates.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the tourist drove with the suspects to a booked accommodation facility.
