Police detained the suspect after Prasa officials apprehended him on Monday.

Several train carriages were extensively damaged during a fire at Cape Town railway station on Sunday afternoon.According to police in the Western Cape, police detained the suspect after Prasa officials apprehended him on Monday.

“Surveillance footage was used to identify the suspect, who is scheduled to make a court appearance in Cape Town Magistrates’ Court once he has been charged,” police said in a statement.
