The wait for his first ever cup as a top-flight coach continues for unlucky Golden Arrows mentor Steve Komphela.

This is after his determined side were beaten 2-1 by the Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout semifinals here yesterday. Down will now meet the winner of Sunday’s second semifinal tie between Kaizer Chiefs and Maritzburg United at Mbombela Stadium.

The Brazilians showed their determination to win the game from the word go, utilising the creativity of “stressed” Gaston Sirino and the manpower of midfield duo of Andile Jali and captain Hlompho Kekana to dismantle the home side. However, Sirino is yet to appear before the PSL DC, with his representative telling the league’s prosecutor Nande Becker that the player is stressed to attend the matter, prompting the football governing body’s attorney to postpone for Wednesday.
