StateCaptureInquiry: 'Former protocol chief abused Zuma, ministers' positions'

Johannesburg - Former Justice Department director-general Nonkululeko Sindane has told the state capture inquiry that Bruce Koloane abused the positions of former president Jacob Zuma and two of his ministers.

Koloane was Chief of State Protocol when the Gupta family landed a chartered Jet Airways plane packed with wedding guests at the Waterkloof Air Force Base in April 2013. She said they were using the power of Mapisa-Nqakula’s office to ensure that junior officials approve the landing.“Something was amiss in this whole process. Permission would not have been granted if it was known that it was a pure wedding,” she said.

OPINIONISTA: The best in the ANC lack all conviction; the worst are full of passionate intensityThe ANC today is nothing less than a cauldron of factional battles and ‘broedertwis’ with Ramaphosa leading the good guys, while Magashule is at the helm of the remnants of the gargantuan Zuma patronage network, whose looting has virtually collapsed our democratic state. Eskom, SAA, Denel, SABC and other SOEs bear testimony to the Zuma-Magashule pillage. The article is loaded with biasness. A good reading for those who belong to a particular faction of the ANC Conviction for good is motivated by moral values, principles & willingness for selfless sacrifices in service of country. Passion for bad is driven by trauma of poverty, materialism, greed & willingness to do whatever it takes to enrich one’s self. The latter is easier to feed.
