Expectations were that government would have increased the number of people allowed to attend local football matches after two test events: Bafana Bafana’s World Cup qualifier at FNB Stadium against Ethiopia last month and last weekend’s MTN8 final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City in Durban.Safa has again been given the green light to allow spectators at FNB Stadium when Bafana host Zimbabwe for their penultimate 2022 World Cup qualifiers next Thursday.
“We are an organised [structure]. I am going to talk for myself [as a medical practitioner] and Safa in this regard. We’ve got an added responsibility to make sure that football doesn’t become a super spreader of Covid-19. If we want to get to full capacity of the stadium, and for us to get there, we need to make sure that we do not contribute to the resurgence of the virus. That’s why we are being extra cautious with the systems that we are putting in place,” he said.
“The minister of sport, arts and culture is quite advanced in doing the phased-in approach of allowing more spectators.
I hope this ban encourages supporters to attend and pack up stadiums when lifted.

I for one cannot blame psl for refusing fans at the stadiums , because government has no direction , the president said only 2000 number be allowed but during his campaign more than 10000 were seen with him at all the rallies , psl rather wait for the right time.
