The Republic of Ireland is one of a handful of European countries that South Africans can travel to without needing a visa. But that might be coming to an end since the ministers in Ireland will reportedly be discussing a move to end visa-free travel for Saffas, according to the Irish Times. The Irish cabinet is reportedly scheduled to discuss the move this Thursday as part of a strategy to clamp down on asylum applications.
As BusinessTech notes, foreigners travelling on South African passports are not a new occurrence, resulting in more scrutiny over its security. Much to the embarrassment of SA, it was widely publicised in 2022 that some Bangladeshi and Pakistani nationals were travelling on South African passports, catching global attention when they were apprehended for fraudulent immigration.

South Africa: ANC-Aligned Cosatu Confirms It Is an Enemy of Unemployed South AfricansPress Release - A statement released yesterday by the ANC proxies in labour federation COSATU is a timely reminder that the ANC alliance - composed of the ANC, COSATU and the SACP - is the primary enemy of the 10 million unemployed people in South Africa. What a nonsensical article. It does not even quote COSATU’s statement nor give a chance for COSATU to comment. If this is an op then your platform should say so and indicate who is the author. Otherwise this platform is little better than graffiti on a bus station.
