Lill, 32, is also a seasoned rider, having also represented the country in the sport at the 2012 Olympics. The race on Saturday was the penultimate round of the gruelling cycling event, known as the untamed African mountain bike race, which will end with a 67km long stage 7 at the Stellenbosch University campus on Sunday. Overall, a multitude of riders across different categories, including amateurs, took part in the 617km long Cape Epic race, which marked 20th year this year.
