South Africans must stop thinking like victims or we’ll become them.

South Africans are the world’s worst-off citizens. For many in South Africa, there is no doubt that we are the poorest of the poor – striking teachers state as a fact on the evening news that they are the most impoverished workers in the country.

In 2017 South Africans in the formal sector had a higher wage than those in Sweden, Japan, New Zealand, and 10 other countries in the rich world – the 34 countries that are members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development .South Africans who work in the formal sector earned more than any of our Brics partners in the formal sector.

Our leaders probably do not know these facts either as they are so wrapped up in a victim mindset and perceptions of their own poverty that we are all in danger of being exploited. Not only does South Africa now produce less steel while the world is increasing production, but the Eskom fiasco is also likely to reduce our ability to produce.

Here's why South Africans are struggling to trade in their carsVehicle owners are taking loans over longer terms, with bigger balloon payments left at the end, which force many to drive cars longer than in the past. BISouthAfrica This is partially true, the challenge in trading in a vehicle especially when its fully paid, is that dealerships often value the car to be traded in far lower than its actually worth. Thus making it not worthy to trade in. Eg dealers offer R75k for a vehicle they sell for R160k

Election campaigns fail to answer the question on all South Africans' mindsSouth Africans don't need any more criticism of the Zuma years. They have long critiqued that period while the ANC was pontificating about 'collective responsibility', writes Mpumelelo Mkhabela. MMkhabel The election period demands on all participants to outline a vision in a form of a manifesto then sell their ideas to the electorate, so the one with convincing message will win & at times expose faults of the opponent. I am struggling to understand the point of this opinion MMkhabel Hopefully Cyril Ramaphosa will make time in his busy campaign schedule to announce the 'fate' of the infamous advocates Jiba & Mrwebi SOON. As 'only he' has to come to a decision this cannot be dragged out to post election day !!🤔 MMkhabel We as a country are so far behind the first world , sweaters and packets of food for votes is so poor man syndromeish ,why can we not push the bench mark ,this poverty and mismatch of the poor is going to shoot us in the foot
