Number of overseas tourists show a decline in SA
Tourists from the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Australia, China and Spain have all declined. The tourism sector, which is seen as a means to unlock jobs and economic growth in South Africa, has been battling to stay competitive. Uncertainty over visa arrangements for visitors from certain countries, travel visas for minors and concerns over crime have been the major setbacks.Tourism accounts for just under 10 percent of total employment in South Africa.
Officials in the sector say they're expecting the unabridged birth certificate requirement for foreign minors travelling into South Africa to be scrapped this month.
The decline is a result of criminal conduct clothed with name 'xenophobia'. We cannot do business against ourselves. Police must do their job to route out the criminals in our society. Both foreign and locals.
Who wants to risk their life and that of their family in crime riddled SA? SA ranks as one of the world's most dangerous country's But CyrilRamaphosa GovernmentZA couldn't care less.. Cos CR is a frequent flyer overseas Tourism_gov_za

They r afraid of being burnt. Xenophobia
No1 wants to risk his or her life
SA need a comprehensive tourism strategy. How do we sell SA to outside world? Yes we have challenges so other countries even than us tourists go there.
Hahahaha too much violence
I could have told you that. I'm at the 'sharp end of tourism'. Tourism has become very quiet, compared to previous years.. crime, uncertainty about safety, xenophobia, stupid comments by politicians, stupid birth certificate rules ( now remedied, but too late) all play a part!
New dawn
You think people are gonna tour a country filled with darkness 🤨
