South African police officer Devan Cox is preparing for a busy shift of fighting off criminals and his thirsty fans after aAfter being tracked down to the beachside town of Gonubie in East London, the ‘hot cop’ has finally spoken about all the attention he has been receiving.In an interview with Algoa FM, Devan Cox revealed that he was indeed a crime-fighting police officer..
He said: “On my off days, I try and keep fit. I run, cycle, and swim. I want to live a healthy life.”He told the Port Elizabeth radio station: “I’m not married, but I am a father of two boys. So a single dad”. When asked if he’s ever had a criminal resist an arrest, or single him out to handcuff them, Devan responded: “Maybe after this”.Meanwhile, South Africans on social media are appealing to police officers to follow in the footsteps of Devan Cox by staying fit and healthy.“They should make posters of him and put it in every police station. Maybe the rest of SAPS will become motivated”“Bring these fit and healthy policemen back.
National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola said: “The benefits are also extended to all members who have existing contracts with the two gym giants. If we are healthy, we will lessen our visits to hospitals and clinics.”“Part of policing requires police officers who will be able to chase after criminals when the situation calls for it. Keeping healthy offers great benefits for wellness.”
He added: “Being physically fit is one of the much-needed attributes for police officers. And in this regard, we do support the initiative.”
