Will Covid-19 scupper Jake White’s recruitment plans at the Bulls? White’s always had a reputation for finding a solution for every problem, but this should be taxing even by his standards, writes simxabanisa

Following his recent appointment as the Bulls’ director of rugby, the general consensus would be that the former Springbok coach has, as they used to say in the old days, landed with his bum in the butter.

Despite being a month into the job, White has yet to clap eyes on his new charges, other than maybe during Skype or Zoom meetings. As is customary with a new boss of any sporting programme, White has been linked with every coach and player – available or otherwise – in anticipation of the “new broom sweeps clean” adage.
