Sibanye-Stillwater has previously said any operational disruptions will “jeopardise the sustainability of our gold operations and will negatively impact the many stakeholders that depend on them”. However, last Tuesday workers rejected the proposed deal and stuck to their demand for a wage hike of R1,000 each year for three years.
