Sharks name powerful Springbok-laden squad for Challenge Cup semi-final against Clermont, aiming for European glory in London.

Eight Springboks feature in the starting lineup, with two more on the bench. The match kicks off at 1:30 pm.has chosen an all-Springbok front row, consisting of Ox Nché, Bongi Mbonambi, and Vincent Koch. They will take on the Clermont pack head-on.

The backline boasts several Springbok stars, including scrum-half Grant Williams, winger Makazole Mapimpi, captain and centre Lukhanyo Am, and fullback Aphelele Fassi. They will play a crucial role in breaking down the Clermont defence.The Sharks have also included Springbok reinforcements on the bench. Prop Ntuthuko Mchunu and centre Francois Venter are set to make an impact as substitutes.

Unfortunately, the team will be without injured Coenie Oosthuizen, Curwin Bosch, and Jaden Hendrikse.Speaking from London, captain Lukhanyo Am expressed his team’s confidence and excitement. “In games like this, it’s about getting the best prep, and we’ve done a great deal to put ourselves in this position,” Am said. He added, “Once you’re in the changeroom, it’s about having confidence in the prep you’ve done.

Am further emphasized the significance of the match, stating, “This game is a big one for us, and everyone is hyped and excited to be playing in a semi against a quality side like Clermont.”The winner of the semi-final will progress to the Challenge Cup final at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next month. They will face either Benetton or Gloucester. The Sharks aim to become the first South African team to reach the final.

The Sharks, with their Springbok-laden squad, are determined to seize the opportunity and secure a place in the Challenge Cup final.
